Nalek is a bad-tempered fanatic fire elementalist. He lives on Mystara in the magic-user-dominated land of Glantri. He has been studying magic on the "Great School of Magic" in Glantri City for several years now. He is a part of a lodge called "The Society of the Source" which is dedicated to research and sharing of information regarding the art of magic. Clerics and the worshipping of gods (called immortals in Glantri) is strictly forbidden in Glantri, but after a near-death experience Nalek suddenly became convinced, that he was an avatar of Cossuth, and therefore he has now started a secret career as cleric (Firewalker) of Cossuth. For some reason, Cossuth answers Nalek's prayers, and he has become a major asset for the cause of Cossuth in Glantri.
Nalek started out as a AD&D 2e character, but now he is converted to 3e, and so are most of his research spells. (I'm still working on that...)
