This page contains both divine and arcane research spells, that are somehow connected to the element of fire.
Burn the Naughty Embracer
This spell, when cast brings into being a protection field one foot distant
from the caster's body. When detonated, the spell produces a burst of flame
around the caster's body, doing 1d4+1 points of flame damage for every two
levels of the caster, up to a maximum of 10d4+10. The flame does not affect the
caster, his items, or any creatures immune to fire. The spell is set off when
something attempts to cover up, engulf, grapple, or otherwise engage the caster
in unarmed combat (eg., green slime falling on the caster). The spell is not set
off by weapon attacks, be they melee or ranged, nor is it set off by other
spells (although it can, of course, be dispelled or end up in an anti-magic
shell or the like). All damage from the fire burst is resolved before the
grappling attack is made, and the target gets a saving throw for half damage.
Material component: A pinch of sulphur.

This spell allows the caster to permanently shape any amount of lava that
fits within the area of effect. The spell works by making certain areas free of
lava and keeping it from streaming back in. The area so cleared is by default
filled with air, and other materials (except from lava which can not enter) must
be carried into the area by a sentient being to pass the barrier.
The spells primary use is to make a tunnel or a room in the heart of a volcano.
It is not possible to make details that are finer than simple furniture.
The "floor" of the cleared room is as solid as a normal stone floor,
but the walls can be passed through by any sentient being with ease.
The walls provide only limited insulation from the heat of the lava. An
unprotected person can stay in the room without taking any damage, but the heat
has the same effects as travelling in the desert, as the temperature is between
30EC and 50EC.
If any lava-based creatures are within the area of effect when the spell is cast,
they are bounced from the area, but are otherwise unharmed (We don’t wanna
hurt our little friends now, do we?).
Material component: A 1 inch cube of lava stone.
Nalek’s Purifier of Incoming Energy
When cast, this spell creates a field one foot distant from
the body of the affected creature. This field converts incoming energy to
heat/fire energy. Acid, Lightning, Cold, Force, and Sonic energy is converted by
the field.
Such types of energy are converted to heat / fire damage and then radiated
inwards against the affected creature, inflicting their normal amount of damage
but in another form. If a spell or effect causes both kinetic and energy based
damage, the kinetic part of the damage is unaffected, but the energy is
converted. Unwilling targets are allowed a saving throw.
Material component: A snail shell filled with soot, which must be crushed
against the forehead of the creature to be affected by the spell.
Transmute Earth to Magma
This spell transfers normal stone or earth of any sort into an equal volume of magma/lava. If it is cast upon a standing rock, for example, the rock affected collapses into a pool of magma.
Creatures unable to levitate, fly, or otherwise free themselves from the magma sink at a rate of ten feet per round and suffocate and get burned. Standing on the surface of the magma, or otherwise having light contact with it, causes 3d8 points of fire damage per round. The damage will increase to twice that amount, if the creature is fully submerged in the magma. The DM can apply damage within this range to creatures partially submerged or covered with magma. The magma will start hardening in 1d6 hours, and the process takes 10 minutes. If this spell is dispelled, the hardening process will start immediately.
Transmute Magma to Stone
This spell causes all magma/lava within the area of effect to cool down, and consequently turn to stone. The entire cooling process takes 10 minutes, but after 2 minutes, the magma is so hard, that passing through it is as difficult as passing through earth. After 8 minutes, the magma is as hard as stone, and when the full ten minutes have past, the former magma is completely hardened and has reached a temperature of 25
EC. The former magma is permanently protected from nonmagical heat, and can only be heated by magical fire.
